Responsibilities
- Lead mechanical design and development projects using CATIA for detailed engineering and design.
- Supervise the creation and maintenance of design maturity, versioning, and release of mechanical systems.
- Collaborate on producing production and maintenance drawings, including installation and industrial schematics.
- Ensure Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) is correctly applied to all design work.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation and manage configuration for engineering projects.
- Provide support and guidance on mechanical apparatus design for scientific facilities, particularly in accelerator and detector environments.
- Engage with diverse technologies such as vacuum systems, gas flow, magnetic fields, cryogenics, electrical/electronics, and more.
Required Skills
- Higher Technical or University Engineering degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related discipline.
- Experience in CAD mechanical design engineering, with a strong proficiency in CATIA (minimum 2 years).
- Proven experience in design maturity, versioning, and release processes.
- Strong knowledge and application of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
- Previous experience in a scientific facility environment is a plus.
- Experience in preparing maintenance and installation drawings will be considered an asset.
- Familiarity with technical documentation and configuration management.
- Relevant experience designing mechanical systems for complex environments like accelerators and detectors is highly desirable.
Desired Skills
- Background in technologies such as vacuum, pressure, gas flow, magnetic field, cryogenics, or electrical/electronics.
- Previous project engineering or mechanical design supervision experience.
